On the screen, you should find out the Oracle GoldenGate version, which database and operating system is supported. Please make sure the information match your current machine and database settings.
Tip: Why I get the "OCI.dll is missing from your computer" error when run GGSCI?
Answer: On Windows for Oracle DB, if you don't set the ORACLE_HOME/bin direction in the PATH, you will get this error.
There is another step you need to do is to create sub-directories used by Oracle GoldenGate using the following command:
ggsci> create subdirs
Next, you normally need to get the Oracle GoldenGate manager up and running. This requires setup the manager parameter file (mgr.prm). An example is shown as follows:
PORT 7809USERID ogg, PASSWORD ogg
PURGEOLDEXTRACTS d:\temp\ogg, USECHECKPOINTS
Then you can start the manager and check if it's running:
ggsci> start mgr
ggsci> info mgr
Manager is running (IP port hostabc.7809).
Tip: Why I get the "Parameter file D:oggdirprmmgr.prm does not exist." error?
You need to edit the parameter file for the manager.
The installation is done.
