The following new features are provided:
- Column-Level Character Set Encoding: In DB2 for i, each table column can have a different encoding. Oracle GoldenGate for DB2 for i 12.2 keeps the column-level encoding unchanged during the replication. The replication performance is improved by avoiding character set conversions.
- Metadata In Trail: the definition (defgen) files and the SOURCEDEFS/ASSUMETARGETDEF parameters are no longer needed.
- One Billion Trail Files: trail file sequence length has increased to nine digits, a 1000x increase to one billion trail files.
- Heartbeat Table: Users can enable the feature to record end-to-end replication lag and view replication statistics with a database view.
- Capturing from Remote Journals: Remote journal support allows GoldenGate extract running on a remote IBM i system to read journal data generated from the primary IBM i system. This eliminates most of the interactions of Oracle GoldenGate extract with the primary system.
- Support Multi-Journals
- Native Name Handling
- Support Partitioned Tables
- Certified to run on IBM iSeries 7.2
- DB2 for i: 7.1, 7.2
