Details: When starting the MySQL extract, I got the following error message. Why I get this error? How to resolve it?
2014-08-18 17:09:25 ERROR OGG-00146 Call to VAMInitialize returned with error status 600: VAM Client Report < CAUSE OF FAILURE : Failed to retrieve log file name WHEN FAILED : While setting initial position in the binary log file WHERE FAILED : MySQLBinLog Reader Module CONTEXT OF FAILURE : No Information Available!>.
Answer: This means that Oracle GoldenGate can't read the log file it suppose to access. Please check with the following options:
- Make sure the MySQL version is certified.
- Check the binlog index file used by Oracle GoldenGate and the actual log file in the system.
- If you can restart the MySQL Server, it could also help address the issue.
- There is a known bug in Oracle GoldenGate for MySQL Bug 19348208 (when binlog-checksum is turned on). Use the Oracle GoldenGate 12c patch with the fix.
What's the changes in binlog-checksum setup in MySQL 5.6.6?
In MySQL 5.6.6, the --binlog-checksum is set to be CRC32 instead of NONE by default.
