Amazon RDS stands for Amazon Relational Database Service. It is a managed service which provides Web service interfaces for user to create, operate and manage relational databases. The current supported databases include:
- Oracle Database
- MySQL Database
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Aurora Database - This is a fully managed, high performance, and MySQL compatible DB.
- PosgreSQL
- Scaling up the CPU, memory, story and IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second), independently
- Managed backup, patching, failure detection and recovery
