Larry Ellison, Oracle Chairman of the Board and CTO, unveiled Oracle Autonomous Database Cloud at Oracle OpenWorld 2017 in his Keynote[1]. The "self-driving" database cloud service will be based on Oracle Database 18c, which provides automated patching, upgrades, backup and availability architecture. Along with the database, Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse Cloud is also announced. The new data warehouse cloud service is based on machine-learning to tune and optimize performance automatically .
